THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR MUSIC EDUCATION (ISME) will hold its next conference in Beijing from 1 to 6 August 2010. http://www.isme.org/2010/ Proposals to present papers and workshops close on October 1st 2009. http://www.isme.org/2010/calls_presenters.html Judy Thonell, secretary of ISME. She is encouraging people from Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze to submit proposals for Beijing 2010 by clicking on ‘Other’ and stipulating one of these methods/approaches. Can you please let your members know? We are looking at creating an ‘Active Music Making’ strand or forum and if approved officially by the board, we will be able to have meetings etc the day before the conference and our own room (large space for movement and plenty of Orff instruments), our own small committee etc. This should benefit all presenters of active music methods who require space. by Sandra Nash, Australian delegate to the FIER.
