50 Years of FIER
Announcing a special edition of Le Rythme to celebrate 50 years of the Fédération Internationale des Enseignants de Rythmique (FIER), the international federation of Eurhythmics teachers. For half a century, FIER has connected artists, educators, and scholars in music and movement from around the world. The 2026 edition of its journal marks FIER’s 50th anniversary with the theme:
Eurhythmic Futures: Between Reflection and Renewal
The theme embraces both established traditions and contemporary innovations. It acknowledges the foundations laid by Emile Jaques-Dalcroze while inviting new voices to adapt, reimagine, and expand Eurhythmics across international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary contexts. It fosters dialogue that honours the past and remains open to a changing future. Contributions may include:
• Creative Investigations of Dalcroze and / or Eurhythmics in music, the arts, and education
• Artistic Documentation of eurhythmic processes in music, dance, and theatre
• Pedagogical Accounts of Eurhythmics in diverse cultures or communities
• Historical Reflections on FIER, Eurhythmics, and Dalcroze
• Theoretical Discussion on the nature of rhythm in music, the arts, and education.
